Consistently excellent!

My Nambu Tekki kettle arrived last week, and just like my previous orders from Master Craftsmanship, the shipping was incredibly fast, arriving in just 4 days to California. The quality is always top-notch, which is why I keep coming back, even if the codes usually can't be combined with other offers. It's nice to know I'll get exactly what I expect.

Great value on tea set

I was looking for a nice Japanese tea set and found Master Craftsmanship. They had a Kyusu teapot with some matching Chawan bowls that were on a small discount, which helped. The quality for the price I paid was excellent. I felt like I got a really good deal on something authentic. Worth the money.

Absolutely love my new ceramics!

I just received my Arita ware rice bowls and they are even more stunning in person! The craftsmanship is incredible, each piece feels so special. I'm so glad I found this store. The packaging was super secure, too. I will absolutely be buying more items from them, maybe a sake set next!

Consistently reliable service

This is my third order from Master Craftsmanship. I previously bought a Gyuto knife and some Tenugui towels, and this time I got a set of Edo Kiriko glasses. Like before, the quality is top-notch and exactly as described. Shipping was consistent with previous orders, around 10-14 days. It's good to know I can rely on them for authentic items and dependable service each time.

Good quality, delivery took a while

I ordered a Nambu Tekki kettle and it arrived well-packaged. The kettle itself is beautiful and very well made, truly authentic. My only minor issue was the shipping; it took about 12 days to get to me in California, which felt a bit long, even for international. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about tracking, though. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase but wish delivery was a bit quicker.

Detailed review for a ceramic purchase

I purchased a set of Kutani ware plates. The ordering process was straightforward on their website; I found the product descriptions very helpful, especially the details about the artisan and region. Shipping took just under two weeks to arrive in New York, and I received tracking updates regularly. The plates themselves were incredibly well-packed in multiple layers of bubble wrap and sturdy boxes, which is crucial for ceramics. They are absolutely beautiful, with vibrant colors and intricate designs; exactly what I hoped for. I had a quick question about care instructions and their customer support replied within 24 hours with a detailed answer. Everything felt authentic and high-quality, from the product to the service. It's a great place to find unique, traditional Japanese items.

can i stack the newsletter discount with a separate coupon code for a specific item?

C Chris 1 month ago
Nah, I don't think you can stack coupons. Most places, and I'm pretty sure them too, only let you use one code at a time.

Pretty sure their policy says no stacking. I tried it once with a holiday code and a first-order thing and it wouldn't let me. One per order is usually the rule.

Does anyone know if they offer free international shipping sometimes? Or is that pretty rare?

J Julia 2 months ago
I think they do free international shipping during special promotions, but it's not an everyday thing.

Yeah, I've seen them offer free international shipping, usually as part of a bigger holiday promo or for a certain collection. Keep an eye on their newsletter, that's where I usually hear about it.

Are there ever any good sales here? I'm eyeing a Nambu Tekki kettle but the price is a bit high.

L Laura W. 2 months ago
They don't do huge sales often, mostly small discounts like 5-10% for newsletters or holiday events.

I've seen some small discounts around holidays like Black Friday or maybe Lunar New Year. Also, signing up for their email list usually gets you a little something on your first order. Don't expect massive price drops though, these are artisan goods.

I'm worried about ceramics arriving broken. How do they package fragile items for shipping overseas?

D Derek E. 2 months ago
They package stuff really well. My teaset came super protected with tons of bubble wrap and sturdy boxes.

Seriously, their packaging is robust. I ordered a few delicate Arita ware plates, and they were individually wrapped, then cushioned, then in a strong box. Arrived perfectly. They know what they're doing with fragile goods.

What's the deal with returns? I'm thinking of getting a really nice knife but worried if it's not quite right.

B Beth 1 month ago
Returns were pretty straightforward for me, just follow their process on the site. I had to send back a bowl that arrived with a tiny chip and they sorted it out quickly.

I think you have a certain window, like 30 days or something, to return things if they're unused. Always good to check their policy page but generally, no major hassle in my experience.
